Decorate Iron Shutters Add Style And Safety
If you're looking to update your home and add an element of safety at the same time you should consider installing decorative iron shutters. You will find a wide variety of iron shutter styles to choose from, some that coordinate with wrought iron fences, gates and stair rails that can give your home a totally custom look.We got the idea to add decorative iron shutters from our landscaper. We were adding a new iron gate to our home as well as new stair railings. He mentioned that iron shutters placed in the bottom windows of our home would really complete the look. We live in an old Federal style home so we knew that it would look nice.
We talked with the metalworker who was designing the wrought iron elements for our home and he was able to make decorative shutters as well as a custom iron door treatment for our front door. We were very lucky to have picked a very talented metalworker. None of the wrought iron work is too "heavy" or too "busy" around the home and it all flows together beautifully. We have a small portico leading up to our front door and the iron work looks grand. We were able to choose from a variety of different powder coated finishes which not only look beautiful but which are also extremely durable and virtually maintenance free.
Along with being beautiful to look at the decorative iron shutters that we chose are also adding another level of safety to our home. They are beautifully designed to let lots of light through, and be easily removable from the inside in case we need to exit through them, but they will not allow anyone to enter through them. So, along with the security service we have for our home we now have another form of security, as well as beauty.
We actually decided to echo the beautify of the iron work outside on the inside of our home. We had beautiful wrought iron stair railing made as well as a fireplace surround.
